Hypothetical Nightmares
It’s only funny until it actually happens.

ICU

Once upon a time, ER was a 2-hour made-for-TV movie that launched the series that JUST WOULDN’T DIE until NBC finally decided that this year was the right time to pull the plug. And it used to be good. Then everyone good left and I decided I no longer cared. And every week’s episode is supposedly more intense than the one before. There have been stabbings and bombs and helicopter amputations…seriously, is any emergency room really that dramatic? Give me a break. YOU AREN’T GETTING MY RATINGS.

What happens when the NBC execs wake up and decide that they miss having a superintense medical drama on the air?

Well, I suppose that’s when we enter SPINOFF CITY!!!!

The show is ICU. Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) has decided to return to civilization and is now head of the intensive care unit in a suburban hospital. Week after week, Carter must deal with having to say goodbye to his many, many senior patients as they spend their final days in his care. The action is slow-moving. Some might even say it’s nonexistent. A real tearjerker.

For February sweeps, Carter falls for a terminal cancer patient. Will she be able to hang on with the promise of his love?

The first season comes to a thrilling conclusion when Dr. Carter fears the grandson of one of his cancer patients may have given him head lice. Will it spread like wildfire through the ICU? Will the hospital staff be able to find enough tiny combs?

TUNE IN WEDNESDAYS AT 9 TO FIND OUT. It’s the itchiest hospital drama you’ll ever see!!!

  1. What if Dr. Carter were to fall for a coma patient whose husband has just decided to pull the plug after 16 years? She IS a really good listener.

    • That’s a story that could develop in the second season. Sounds good, though. I want you on my team.

Besides, if he’s falling for someone who’s dying, I feel like he should only do one of those a year.
